Noah is a significant figure in the Bible, primarily known for his role in the story of the Great Flood, which is found in the Book of Genesis (chapters 6-9). According to the Bible, Noah was a righteous man who lived in a time when humanity had become corrupt and sinful. God decided to cleanse the earth of its wickedness by sending a flood to destroy all living creatures.
However, because of Noah’s faithfulness and righteousness, God chose him to build an ark—a large vessel that would save him, his family, and pairs of every kind of animal from the impending flood. Noah obediently followed God’s instructions, building the ark and gathering the animals.
The floodwaters eventually covered the earth, but Noah, his family, and the animals were safe inside the ark. After the waters receded, Noah and his family were the only humans left, and they repopulated the earth. God made a covenant with Noah, promising never to destroy the earth with a flood again, and as a sign of this covenant, He placed a rainbow in the sky.
Noah is also recognized as a man of great faith, and he is mentioned in the New Testament as an example of righteousness and obedience to God (Hebrews 11:7). His story is a reminder of God’s judgment against sin, as well as His mercy and faithfulness to those who trust in Him.

Lived Post-Flood: After the flood, Noah became a farmer and planted a vineyard. However, there’s also an account where Noah became drunk from the wine he made, leading to a troubling incident with his son Ham, which resulted in Noah cursing Ham’s descendants (Genesis 9:20-27).
Noah’s life is a powerful example of faith, obedience, and the consequences of human sinfulness, as well as God’s mercy and the importance of covenant relationships with Him.
