Spread the love

The question of when Jesus will return is one that has intrigued and inspired Christians for centuries. According to the Bible, the exact time of Jesus’ return is unknown to humanity. In Matthew 24:36, Jesus Himself said, “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

Throughout the New Testament, believers are encouraged to live in a state of readiness and anticipation for Christ’s return. In Matthew 24:42, Jesus advises, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” Similarly, in 1 Thessalonians 5:2, Paul writes, “For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.”

The emphasis is not on trying to predict the exact timing, but rather on being spiritually prepared. Believers are called to live faithfully, following Jesus’ teachings and spreading the Gospel, as we await His return. In Matthew 24:44, Jesus says, “So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

This expectation is a source of hope and encouragement. The promise of Jesus’ return assures us that God’s plan for redemption and restoration will be fulfilled. It reminds us to remain steadfast in our faith, to love one another, and to live lives that reflect His love and grace.

In the meantime, Christians are encouraged to pray, to serve, and to grow in their relationship with God, trusting in His perfect timing and sovereign plan. As we wait for Jesus’ return, we do so with joyful anticipation, knowing that He is faithful and that His promises are true.

So, while we do not know the exact time of Jesus’ return, we can live in hopeful expectation, faithfully following Him and sharing His love with the world until that glorious day arrives.
