1. Creation and Sustainer of Life (Divine Role)
In Christian theology, Jesus is understood as part of the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Gospel of John begins by saying:
“Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” — John 1:3
This means Jesus (the Word, or Logos) was involved in creation itself. So, in a deep theological sense, Jesus is seen as giving us life by being a co-creator.
2. New Life Through Salvation
Another core idea is that Jesus gives us spiritual life—a restored relationship with God—through his death and resurrection. According to the Bible:
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” — John 10:10

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6:23
This means Jesus gave us eternal life and a path to redemption.
3. Example of a Life Worth Living
Some people understand Jesus as giving us life by showing how to live—through love, compassion, justice, and sacrifice. He modeled what it means to live selflessly, to forgive, to serve others.
4. A Personal Gift of Purpose
On a personal level, many Christians believe that Jesus gives meaning and purpose to their lives—that following him leads to peace, hope, and direction.
