Spread the love

1. Jesus as the Source of All Life (Creation)
In Christian doctrine, Jesus isn’t just a teacher or prophet; He is believed to be God incarnate—the eternal Son who was present at the beginning of creation. This is especially clear in Colossians 1:16–17:

“For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth… all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

So, in this sense, life exists because of Him. This means He gives us breath, existence, and the very structure of reality.

2. Jesus Gives New Life Through His Death and Resurrection
The heart of the Christian gospel is that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, defeating death. This act is seen as giving humanity a new kind of life: one that’s free from sin and death.

“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

So, Jesus doesn’t just give physical life—He gives spiritual life, and offers a relationship with God, restored from the brokenness of sin.

3. Jesus Shows Us How to Live
Jesus didn’t just teach; He lived what He taught. His life is considered the perfect model of:

Love (“Love your enemies”)

Humility (He washed His disciples’ feet)

Sacrifice (He gave His life for others)

Forgiveness (“Father, forgive them…”)

Following His way brings purpose, healing, and transformation. He gives us a life worth living, not just surviving.

4. Jesus Gives Us Eternal Life
Many Christians believe that this life is only the beginning. Jesus offers eternal life with God—not just after death, but starting now:

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” — John 17:3

This means eternal life isn’t just “heaven later,” but knowing God now, in this life.

5. On a Personal Level: Why Did Jesus Give You Life?
That’s a question every person can wrestle with individually. From a Christian view, He gave you life because:

You are loved deeply

You were created for a purpose

You are not an accident

Your life is part of a bigger story

Summary
Jesus gave us life:

Physically (as Creator)

Spiritually (as Redeemer)

Purposefully (as Example and Lord)

Eternally (as Savior)
